Well,
we got to the train station in Paris and it reminds me of Hugo, that movie with
the kid who lives in the giant clockwork of the train station. Also though, I
immediately noticed how much dirtier London was. The streets in London were
oddly clean but Paris was even worse than New York City. And I know that they
say the servers are rude and stuff but it still was much more apparent than in
London. The people who serve you food do not care about anything at all. But on
the other hand, Paris has so much more to see that is old and beautiful and
iconic. London would be much better to live in and Paris would be the place to
visit, but maybe just a couple times.
On
this first day, we went on a bus tour with a really cool guide who took us all
around Paris to see the big attractions. We stopped at a really good spot to
take pictures with the Eiffel Tower in the background and then went to the Champs
Elysees for shopping and to see the Arc de Triomphe. For our first dinner in
Paris, we had duck, French fries, and chocolate mousse. Delicious. Then we made
our way back to the hotel and attempted to work on our blogs. Instead, my group
ended up buying wine and talking in the hotel lobby next to the front windows
where we could see a few restaurants and cafes. Personally, I still do not like
wine so I got ice cream and I tried cognac for the first time. I am here to try
new things I guess. Don’t worry, I only had two, but unfortunately for some
other people, things got a little out of hand. And it would be such a shame to
get puke on the fabric-lined walls of our hotel rooms. Oh well, c’est la vie.
